Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was a scientist and visionary of Croatian origin, Serbian descent and American citizenship. But above all, he was a cosmopolitan and humanist. Even though he revolutionised the world of electricity and laid the foundations for modern sustainable energy generation, radio broadcasting and wireless communication, Tesla remained a misunderstood genius during his lifetime. Alida Bremer convincingly and excitingly tells not only Tesla's life story, but above all that of Dr Ante Matija\u010da, who, like Tesla, replaced his home in the \"East\" with a new home in the \"West\". The consequences of the colonisation of the people of the Western Balkans by the KuK monarchy and the mere fact of their origin had a decisive influence on the \"American\" lives of both.<\/p>\n

A novel about the longing for change and clarity in one's own life, for the departure into a better future and peaceful humanity, and the disappointment that the past always catches up with us.<\/p>\n

About the author: Alida Bremer, Dr phil., born 1959 in Split\/Croatia. Studied Comparative Literature, Romance Studies, Slavic Studies and German Studies in Belgrade\/Serbia, Rome\/Italy, M\u00fcnster and Saarbr\u00fccken\/Germany. Doctorate in Comparative Literature at the University of Saarbr\u00fccken. Freelance author and translator. Lives in M\u00fcnster.<\/p>\n
