Ada Kaleh, the sunken Danube island

04/07, 17:00 - 18:30

Picture lecture with Andrea Vándor

A small paradise in a mild climate, inhabited by Turks who cultivated roses and tobacco - that was the island of Ada Kaleh.
It lay in the middle of the Danube between Romania and Serbia, surrounded by the steep banks of the Iron Gate. But then a hydroelectric power station was built and the island sank forever ... We are rediscovering it!
