A concert evening with rare value awaits the audience at the International Danube Festival 2026 in Ulm. On Sunday, 12 July 2026, DONAU 3 FM and Allgäu concerts will bring the DONAU SYMPHONIE 2026 to the stage as the grand closing concert of the Congress Centre Ulm.
The focus is on the Town band Ulm, which presents symphonic wind music at the highest level on this evening. George Gershwin's „Rhapsody in Blue“ is played right at the beginning - together with the renowned pianist Julia Rinderle.
The highlight follows: The world premiere of Frank Wildhorn's DONAU SYMPHONIE in a new version for symphonic wind orchestra. The work was first performed in Ulm in 2024 and is now experiencing its next musical development, specially arranged for the Stadtkapelle Ulm. In nine movements, the symphony, which lasts around an hour, is a sonorous declaration of love to the Danube and the stories along its course.
The DONAU SYMPHONIE 2026 marks the ceremonial conclusion of the International Danube Festival and promises a special concert evening for music lovers from all over the region.
