The name says it all: IMPEX imports and exports sounds from the most diverse musical universes - and brings them together in a rousing live performance. The ethnically diverse band unites Roma and non-Roma musicians from Romania, a country with a rich, multicultural history that is clearly reflected in the repertoire. In IMPEX, members Andrei, Eugen, Jerry, Paul and Attila combine their experience from previous projects (including. Steaua de mare) and create something new from it: an uncompromisingly eclectic mix of contemporary classical music, rock, jazz, experimental and electronic music as well as Balkan and Arabic influences.

On stage, everything is unpacked and recombined - spontaneously, intensively and across genres. Collaborations with artists such as Rodion G.A. (Romanian electronic legend of the 1970s) or Shamanelism (anti-racist „Gypsy Music“ concert series) show how diverse and surprising the musical results of these encounters can be. IMPEX stands for exchange, diversity and crossing sonic boundaries - an experience that defies categorisation.
