Discover the Danube with the Schönen Lau - A creative river journey for children
Based on the book by Gabriela Costea, Iulia Iordan and Anca Smărăndache: „Lau laughs again“, created as part of the „Danube Nature Guides“ project“

WORKSHOP PROGRAMME IN THE CHILDREN'S TENT:

What does the Danube actually look like - from its source to the Danube Delta? And what does a river need so that animals, plants and people can live well together?
In this interactive workshop, children and the literary character Schöne Lau, from the story by Eduard Mörike, the Danube in a creative way. They make their own Danube mini-map, explore illustrations from the children's book „Lau laughs again“, recognise environmental problems of the Danube in a playful way and learn about simple nature-based solutions.
At the end, the children design their personal „Wish card for the Danube“ - with their own ideas for a lively flow.
The workshop combines River stories, literature, art and knowledge of nature and invites children to discover the Danube as a common European habitat.
The programme is aimed at children between the ages of 10 and 13.

STORYTELLING PROGRAMME ON THE SHORE NEXT TO THE CHILDREN'S TENT:
Schöne Lau tells stories for pre-school children from 10 a.m. every 45 minutes
Parallel to the workshop in the tent, the beautiful Lau will tell stories on the banks of the river and children can immerse themselves in her stories with a few pictures. The storyteller will be using appealing Kamishibai transparencies taken from the story „Lau laughs again“.
In case of bad weather, the HISTORY NARRATIVE PROGRAMME will take place in the conference room of the Edwin-Scharff-Haus.
