Rickerl - Music is at most a hobby - Donau Film & Sterne

The pubs in Vienna's working-class neighbourhood are Erich "Rickerl" Bohacek's living room and stage: in the thick cigarette smoke, he plays his way into the hearts of those who hang out there every night for pocket money. But instead of finally recording his first record, the artist of life makes ends meet with odd jobs - as a gravedigger, sex shop employee and wedding singer. Meanwhile, Rickerl's ex-girlfriend Viki lives a middle-class life with her new boyfriend Kurti, a "stuffed Piefke", in her own home with turf. Rickerl, on the other hand, doesn't even have enough money to go to the cinema with his six-year-old son Dominik, whom he loves more than anything. Rickerl, free spirit and chaotic at the same time, is always getting in his own way. Be it in his sincere attempt to be a good father or to finally make it as a musician. Only when he is in danger of losing everything does he find his very own, endearingly eccentric solution to steer his life in the right direction.
