The Morenos

The city of Osijek lies on the banks of the Drava in the east of Slavonia, around 20 kilometres before it flows into the Danube. The Hungarian state border is around 45 kilometres to the north and it is around 40 kilometres to Serbia. South of Osijek, after around 75 kilometres, you reach Bosnia and Herzegovina. And just as their home town lies at the crossroads of different countries and regions, the music of the seven-piece fusion band is a cross-border mixture of jazz, blues, funk and Latin. In addition to their own material, their concerts also feature numerous songs from the 50s and 60s by artists such as Jimmie Smith and Dr Lonnie Smith as well as a few jazz standards.
