The Croatian formation Balkan Zoo, led by the renowned bassist and composer Mario Rašić, has stood for a unique sound language for over a decade: flamenco-inspired music, deeply rooted in the rhythms and melodies of the Balkans - powerful, multi-layered and arranged in a contemporary style.

With their latest album „Recycle“, the band takes a bold step further. The award-winning musician Rašić reinterprets traditional Roma songs together with a high-calibre ensemble. Complex arrangements, virtuoso interplay and the expressive voice of vocal soloist Nina Ćorić create a progressive world music sound that respects tradition and at the same time rethinks it.

The current album „Recycle“ is an artistic statement. Balkan Zoo sheds light on social prejudices, celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Roma and uses music as a powerful tool for dialogue, understanding and positive social change.
