In order to give as many people as possible access to cultural content, the International Danube Festival has been organising the programme series "The Danube Festival comes to you" for several years. It is dedicated to the residents of social and medical institutions who are unable to visit the festival site due to various health restrictions. The aim of the programme is to involve as many different institutions as possible in the staging of the event. However, as some of the planned events had to be cancelled in 2022 due to coronavirus, they will be rescheduled for 2024.
This year's programme initially includes 7 institutions from Ulm and Neu-Ulm: Friedrich von Bodelschwingh Schule Ulm/Neu-Ulm, Dreifaltigkeitshof, Ulm, AWO Neu-Ulm, Donauklinik Neu-Ulm, ASB Ulm Weststadt, Seniorenresidenz Friedrichsau, Ulm and Tannenhof Ulm.
More than 20 artists take part in music, literature, storytelling and dance programmes to bring the flair of the Danube Festival home to residents and interested parties. Many events are interactive and convey the basic ideas of the Danube Festival: unity in diversity and strengthening cohesion in the Danube region and in Europe. The events are organised according to the wishes, interests and special features of the residents of the respective institutions.
The Danube Office Ulm/Neu-Ulm and Olivera Stošić Rakić organised the programme series in close cooperation with the local institutions and stakeholders.
