The diversity of the „Danube Limes“ UNESCO World Heritage Site“

Places to visit, networks and educational programmes

Discover the wide range of themes at this archaeological World Heritage Site, with its educational programmes, networks and various projects. We would be delighted to discuss with you the opportunities and challenges presented by our transnational, serial World Heritage site.
The Interreg project „Roman Legacy“, in which 11 countries in the Danube region are participating, is currently underway. The aim is to establish a Council of Europe Cultural Route in order to promote the Danube Limes and its hinterland for educational and tourism purposes, and to provide a platform for stakeholders.
Key partners along the Bavarian section of the UNESCO World Heritage Site are the five museums in the „Experience the Danube Limes World Heritage“ museum network, located between Kelheim and Passau. The Regensburg History Museum is represented on site by a designated contact person.
