Life sometimes takes strange turns. A poor man wants to make his pregnant wife happy by picking some raisins from the neighbour's garden and then it happens: he is caught stealing vegetables. And it gets worse, because the garden belongs to a powerful sorceress. In exchange for his life, the man has to give her his little daughter.

The years go by and the baby has grown into a beautiful young woman: Rapunzel. Hidden from the world, she lives in a small chamber at the top of a huge tower. Every day her song rings through the forest and even the birds in the treetops listen. But then suddenly a prince hears her song and follows it to the foot of her tower. How will he ever get up there and find out who can sing so beautifully?
