For almost three decades, Mario Lovaković, known to many as Umbo, has been sharing his ever-growing musical journey with the world since he first stood behind the turntables in 1998.

Rooted in the infectious rhythms of funk, Umbo's dynamic DJ sets and diverse production work are a rich tapestry woven together by soul, jazz, Latin and Afrobeat influences. His distinctive, eclectic style, born out of a deep appreciation for disco and global grooves, has made him a sought-after artist that has led to shared stages with an impressive list of household names including Dimitri from Paris, Marshall Jefferson, Ollie Teeba (Herbology), Andy Smith (Portishead), Supa Dj Dmitry (Deee-Lite), Ian Pooley, DJ Vadim, Smoove etc.

Umbo's music has gained international acclaim and has been played frequently on the prestigious „Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show“ on BBC6 - a testament to his ear for captivating sounds.

His production journey began in 2008 with the release of the EP „Dirty“ on Timewarp Music, which marked the beginning of an extensive release of original tracks, remixes and edits for a variety of respected labels such as Resense, Breakbeat Paradise Records, Soul Flip, Goodgroove Records, Wack and Katakana Editions.

From 2007 to 2011, Umbo was also a producer and DJ member of the band „Dogo Argentino“. He continued to explore new areas and founded the jazz band „The Morenos“ together in 2018, which has already performed live at the Donaufest 2024.
